A native of Alabama, R. David Roden Jr., DMD, MD, was born and raised in Albertville. He attended Auburn University where he received a BS in Pre-health, Zoology. During a hospital experience course, Dr. Roden realized that primary care medicine was not his destiny. After working in a dental office and speaking with his friend and dentist, he was inspired to explore the dental path and was accepted to the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. In dental school, he discovered that in order to use all of his knowledge and skills, as well as enjoy the ability to apply medicine to dentistry daily, becoming an oral surgeon would be his goal. Providing services that have the ability to not only remove pain but also restore necessary function and aesthetics for patients makes every day a new challenge for Dr. Roden.
In May of 2010, Dr. Roden joined the long-respected oral surgery practice of Dr. H. Newton Burton. Dr. Burton retired four years later, and Dr. Roden took over the practice, which is now Roden Oral, Facial, and Dental Implant Surgery. Dr. Roden loves practicing in Birmingham with its small-town feel, great food, and abundant culture and entertainment. He would like his patients to know that they can expect to have a comforting experience from start to finish and that he will provide customized options for each patient with their best interest in mind. Not only that but, in many cases, you can have your consultation and your surgery on the same day. You will be well-informed, respected, comfortable, and cared for. Our entire team cares for people, not dental problems!
