Take any pre-operative medications prescribed by your surgeon as directed at your consultation visit.
Do not have anything to eat or drink for 6 hours prior to the appointment.
No smoking or vaping prior to surgery. Ideally, smoking cessation should occur at least 2 weeks prior to the day of surgery.
A responsible adult must accompany you to the office, remain in the office during your procedure, and drive you home. You should have a responsible adult with you for 24 hours postoperatively.
You should not drive a vehicle or operate any machinery for 24 hours following the anesthesia experience.
Please wear loose-fitting clothing and dress in layers to assist with proper placement of patient monitors. Please wear comfortable, low-heeled shoes.
Contact lenses, jewelry, and dentures must be removed at the time of surgery.
Do not wear lipstick, excessive makeup, or nail polish on the day of surgery. Artificial nails and nail polish must be removed prior to surgery. If you have an illness such as a cold, sore throat, stomach or bowel upset, please notify the office prior to your appointment.
If you take routine oral medications, please check with our office prior to your surgical date for instructions. Most medications should be taken as directed prior to surgery, especially blood pressure medications.
Post-operative instructions will be given at your surgical visit or can be found on our website. Post-operative prescriptions will be given on the day of surgery.
